TUSNAD 2000
Built Heritage and Society
March 19-25, 2000

IX Annual International Conference on Theoretical and Practical Issues in Conservation of the Built Heritage
Tusnad, Romania

At the turn of the millenium the ever-changing concept of our built heritage needs a clear identification. This topic requires at least two approaches: 1. a society-centered approach: society's demand on the architectural heritage 2. a heritage-centered approach: the conditions to be fulfilled in order to preserve it.

Specialists' opinion upon the interrelation between society and the architectural heritage may be of decisive importance, however, non-professionals' point of view can be important as well. The opportunity to clarify the concepts regarding the relationship between society and architectural heritage is given by the Ninth annual Tusnad conference titled BUILT HERITAGE AND SOCIETY. Points of View - Approaches
